Killed bin Laden

When I heard I was watching NCIS on DVR. I found it annoying when Obama was going to make a speach in 10 min but he kept delaying it. I think the war is far from over because he was a leader in hiding so he was not making many dessions and hence there must be a power under him which will take over after him. I dont think they will stop until they feel satisfied and avenged for the killing of osama bin laden. I do feel better about the U.S though because we didnt just give up on trying to find him we kept trying and trying and trying until we finally suceeded but now we have to move onto our next mission and get it done. I think that it is very important that we killed osama bin laden because that shows the power of the us and our army and navy and our entire service. and it shows how if you mess with us we will not stop til we show you we are bigger than you and can squash you like a bug. I think this will really help the soldiers from the U.S. still present in the middle east a ton because they now know that we are moving forward everyday and we are one step closer to ending this war and taking Al-Quada down. Was in the first grade when Bin ladden planed and accomplished his terrorist attack on the twin towers. I had no idea what was happening but just knew something bad had happened. We wrote to soldiers and saw the devastating attack on the news. In some ways it is good to reunite America and share the accomplishment of bringing a ruthless leader of terrorists Osama bin Laden. Hopefully this will help keep that sense of unity, but I highly doubt it will. Our country is fighting over who's republican and who's liberal way too much. I myself even get sucked into heated debates over politics. Politics do nothing but enrage people and distract them from their duty, to serve and run our country. That's what we need more then ever. Instead of everyone critisizing each other we need to be working on ways to better ourselves as a nation. It's either that or everyone in congress is useless to me. Osama being dead may not help all too much to unify our nation, but hopefully it will raise appreciation for our military and the brave men and women in it. I remember watching it on the T.V. alot, and that was all I got out of it at the time but as time has gone on I have gotten a deeper understanding of what really happened. I remember when I was a kid going into the twin towers and on the roof, before they came down. Now I realize that it could of been us in those buildings or another building and that I am lucky that it didn't happen when we were there. I feel that us catching Bin Laden had now put the target on our backs. The Taliban might feel like they need revenge and could launch a new attack on U.S. soil.

Night & Maus Blog

Night and Maus are very similar but different they both tell the story about the Holocaust but they do it in their own manners. Night is actual people being portrayed and its very depressing, but Maus is a comic about the Holocaust. I think it is necessary to read both books because they boath provide a different interpretation on the holocost. Example from each book When they are first starting to be controlled by the Nazi’s in Maus they get moved into the Stara Salvenick quarter and they don’t have much emotion about it and in Night when they receive their Jewish star Eli’s father says "A yellow star? O well what of it? It won’t kill us". I think this shows that in both books they could see there fate coming but did nothing to stop it.

Pre-writing
At first when the bombs hit the hill it showed how much you could feel it. This probably scared Perry at first. The second time when the men flew in it put me in Perry's shoes and showed what he saw. It was intense because you saw all the dust fly in the air. The machine gunner remined me of Brew with the 50. it was sad when Restrepo died it is like when Brew dies because everyone liked him and was everyone friend. I taught when the man who was telling to tell his family about the war is similar to when Perry is trying to tell Kenny about the war. The hootch's in the book and the movie were made more real and you could really see how cramped their quarters were. It was funny in the book when they were talking about how they were sick of the food there and how it was such a treat when they got to eat fresh cow. This is like in Fallen Angels when they would get mad at the chef when they had the same meal everyday. When the soldiers in Restrepo would hang out in their hooches like in Fallen Angels when they would play games and talk in the barracks. In the movie when they are talking to the villagers about where the Taliban were, it was like when Perry and the others are going through the villages and bringing food. In both I noticed that how its tough it was for people to sleep because of the horrible things that they have seen war.

Writing
War is a horrible thing for anyone to go through. It is because of the tramatic exprences that you have to go through. These include loosing a friend, having to kill somebody And most importantly almost dying. In both books all of these were obvious and it showed how hard and emotional war really was. One thing that stunned me was that how much the news leaves out about the war. The movie and the the book showed that brilliantly.

two pie paragraph Siddhartha

There are many lessons that could be learned from the book Siddhartha. One of the most influential is losing you friend. “He has robbed me, yet he has given me something of greater value. He has robbed me of my friend, who believed in me and now who believes in him, he was my shadow and now Gotama’s shadow.” (36, 1-4) This quote shows that he was a good friend with Govinda. Siddhartha felt lost when he lost his friend to the Gotama. After a wile he gets over it and moved on to find his own path to enlightenment. This would be like if a friend moved away you would be sad at first and then you would get over the loss and move on. This is like when my neighbor moved away. we had been friends since birth. I was really good friends with her and was sad when she moved away. I got over it and made new friends that next school year.
